Founder Gopinath Bandari is seen pitching his Startup – Playcer – a sports facilities/tournaments & run discovery and bookings platform.
‘Sports has the enduring ability to promote healthy lifestyles; create & share happiness’ – this is the philosophy that drives this young team.
Being a regular tennis player, Gopinath always struggled to find available courts, the right coaches or partners to play with. He feels that despite the Internet the problem still persists, even in the metros. He therefore set out to ease the bottlenecks that keep people away from playing.
“We are building a comprehensive sports platform which will include, playing, participation in tournaments/runs, coaching and smart sports gear”, says Gopinath. “We also aim to augment the sporting infrastructure (unlocking the existing infra) in quantity and quality with technology intervention and collaborative business models and make sports available & accessible to all.”
Gopinath is a graduate of NIT W and IIM Ahmedabad. He has served as associate VP at Oyo Rooms, and worked at Tata Steel and ONGC. His cofounder Abhinav Ramagiri is also from NIT W and ISB Hyderabad and has also worked as an associate VP at Oyo Rooms. He has also served as a consultant at ZS Analytics and Abbott.
