“The travel industry and online hotel booking industry is growing at 39% Year on Year,” says Ramu. “We choose the hotels that then begin using our proprietary Data Analytics and AI engine and are able to offer customers upto 70% discount from rates available on other online portals.”
The Travelspice customers are value conscious and flexible (~ 10% of all hotel bookings). Hotels benefit because they can sell their perishable room inventory behind an opaque platform without tarnishing their brand by white labelling this inventory. Travelspice provides hotels with fully paid non-refundable travellers to help them increase their occupancy levels, without hurting their brand.
Travelspice has sold 6000 room nights to date in 200+ cities in India, Dubai, Singapore, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur and Colombo. They have generated ~Rs.1 Cr in revenue since launch. Over 90,000 customers have signed up and shown interest in the model till date. They have also won a grant from the Karnataka Government under the Elevate program for being one of the best travel tech start-ups.

Ved has 12 Years of core experience in Digital Enabled Growth in the travel space. He has been associated with Product Growth strategy, implementation and scaling various line of business like hotels, holidays and flights.
