Founder Antara Hazarika seen pitching Superpop – that produces frozen health Bars on a Stick.
“Superpop is made of pesticide free, fresh seasonal produce, the ingredients are flash frozen at the peak of their maturity to lock the nutrition. All the Bars are minimally processed with fresh herbs, rock salt or natural sweeteners in small batches. There is no dairy, gluten, emulsifiers or preservatives added to the product. Being in the freezer at -18 celsius increases the shelf life of the product is upto about a year. It is a ready to eat convenient snack option for anytime of the day or night,” explains Antara passionately.
Superpop was founded in August 2018. The founder, a design professional was on a restaurant design stint when she came to Bangalore to create and design the space for an organic vegetarian restaurant. She noticed how the fresh produce being harvested and cooked on site had a direct impact on her energy levels. Post that experience she started growing her own herbs, vegetables and fruit trees as she was inspired and wanted to bring about a change in the way she accessed food.
Being an Urban Farmer did not douse her curiosity and therefore she decided to work at the grassroots level with an NGO in Uttranchal. It was here that she spent time researching and immersing herself in understanding how one can impact the local food ecosystem, how disease can manifest through packaged and bottled products. What is local and seasonal in a 50 km radius and how one can contribute actively to building a sustainable ecosystem.
Antara has always been passionate about the movement arts, yoga and growing her own food. This led her to design holistic health programs for women, workshops called Tavotara Living. Superopop was born out of this initiative.
