Founder Vidhey Addepally pitching Sepal – a solution that aims to provide 2-wheeler riders with all the important comforts of a car.The team comprises of an Engineer from IIT-Bombay and a designer from LEED University, UK. The Startup reports over 2 yrs of R&D at IIT Bombay where they developed Sepal. It is a collapsible canopy that can be quickly attached to any motorcycle and forms a compact bag like shape that has no effect on one’s driving experience. When required, it can be opened in seconds to give the riders complete environmental protection from sun, rain, dust and even cold. Further, the device enhances safety in case of an accident.
“Our vision for Sepal goes beyond these physical comforts. Sepal comes integrated with essential electronics and all the IoT comforts that you find in a modern car. The device will feature a mobile-holder which serves as the HUD, it can gather information displayed on the bike’s dashboard and has buttons that can be strapped to the handle grips. With such a robust system we can provide users with comforts like navigation, call answering, music streaming … on the go at their fingertips!! ” says Vidhey.Partnering with Apps like Wynk, Inshorts and providing the best in-class infotainment is also on the charts. The Startup aims to bring a platform in place and then do much more with it. The Startup has carried out pilot runs with last-mile delivery companies that took place during the peak monsoon season in Mumbai and during the peak Summer season in Delhi. “All the users absolutely loved the product and we have even received pre-order intents from Faasos, Foodpanda, Delhivery and a few others for 600+ units,” says Vidhey.
