“It is a growing company which supplies almost 80% of all aerospace academic institutes in India. The education sector in India is estimated at US$ 91.7 billion in FY18 and is expected to reach US$ 101.1 billion in FY19. In addition, corporate upskilling market is estimated to be $2 billion. AAT develops smart tech solutions for this academic teaching as well as corporate upskilling,” says Rajaguru.
While working in GE, Rajaguru was volunteering to train engineers in rural areas. During the process, he understood that the skill gap between rural engineers and industry was much higher when compared to urban engineers. He also realised the power of experiential learning in helping improve skills.
“During several institute visits, we realised that classrooms and academic labs today look nearly identical to those 30 years ago, minus a few upgrades to the modern chalkboard, and sneaking texts in class instead of notes. Even today, many schools and colleges lack proper lab infrastructure. This needs clear technology intervention to make it effective and attractive which laid the foundation for our startup,” says Rajaguru.
The Startup reports that they are currently serving aerospace engineering colleges and research labs and have hit a yearly turnover of more than 1 crore.
