On the 3rd of December 2021, at the Connecting Ideas With Money session at Lounge47, founder Kaniyarasu Duraisamy pitched Learnery.io – an early-stage ed-tech startup based out of Bengaluru.

“We are an ed-tech platform offering Cohort-based Interactive Co-curricular and supplementary classes for kids through a pocket-friendly subscription model. We help teachers run and manage their cohorts effectively through our easy to use and fully automated solution with class reminders, payments, integrated LMS and
classroom tech. On the other end, we assist parents in discovering and booking courses relevant to their children and helping children develop holistically,” says Kaniyarasu. “The concept of enabling online cohort learning started as a personal need when I was looking for online Keyboard classes for my child. There was no way to determine which
teachers were available, their rating, the cost, and the course curriculum. We ended up buying a course on Udemy, but could not continue beyond a few videos, as the pace was not matching. When I pitched cohort-based courses platform with experience similar to Udemy to my co-founder, he liked it immediately and could connect with his experience of buying courses but not finishing them.”
The Startup believes that the future of online education is Cohort-based learning. As teachers struggle to manage and market their online cohorts, Learnery.io offers a subscription-based ed-tech platform where customers subscribe to access all cohorts and workshops. Teachers register to teach; once approved,
they can list courses, get help from the Startup’s teacher onboarding team, and get paid for the classes they offer.
The Startup has more than 100 teachers offering 156 courses for kids on Chess, Academics, Music, Lifeskills, Personality development, Creative writing, World languages, Acting, Coding, and more. The Startup has completed 2500 classes as of Nov 2021. They have formed an exclusive partnership with Dusminute – a hyperlocal community services platform with access to more than 25 societies in Bengaluru.
