“Since inception our focus has always been to provide flexibility and personalization to the hotel booking process. We developed the first booking platform in India. Compared to other platforms in the market we’re not focused entirely on couples neither we’re semi-flexible nor having a too broad scope. Our services can be availed by anyone be it a backpacker, student, businessman, parents… layover passengers….,” says Prateek. “Also, not only we serve the need for our customers, but also help increasing the revenue of hoteliers too. Hence, the room packs of 3hr, 6hrs and 12hrs are more economical and less cumbersome to manage unlike providing the rooms on a per hour basis. By this the hotelier can utilize their empty room multiple times a day.”
Most of the Hotels have 60% unsold rooms in daytime. It is quite difficult for unmarried couples to find rooms for short duration that are safe and secure and free of judgement. There is no freedom for travelers to choose their own check-in time. With flexible timings customer pay only for the hours they stay in a hotel unlike the old 24hrs pricing hence making this solution more pocket friendly.
It all started with a trip to Manali. Back in 2015 Prateek along with his friends needed a room for few hours but found no willing hotels. This sparked the idea. Convincing the hotels partners initially for this model was tough but the Brevistay team persevered. People walking into a hotel and asking the receptionist to give them a room for few hours is something that raises eyebrows and questions in India. This young team took efforts to change the mindset of the hotel staff. In the 1st year of operation they onboarded only 35 hotels. Currently they have 2300 hotels across 45+ cities. Premium hotels like Hyatt Bangalore, Ramada by Wyndham, Sarovar Portico, Royal Orchid have also signed up.
