At the Connecting Ideas With Money session, that took place on the 29th of July, founder Vinayak Anil Kumar pitched Pune-based Metavibe – a pre-revenue mobile-based metaverse platform designed for socializing and dating.

The App targets primarily the Gen-Z population, looking to meet and form social connections online. In trying to tackle the problems of current popular dating Apps, the team have included gamification of virtual interactions through voice-based conversational games and innovative modes like speed dating, blind dating, and various group interactions.They are set to improve the quality of virtual interactions.
“We are trying to replicate real-world interactions in the virtual world. We are an overlap of a gaming and a social company that improves the quality of online interactions by building voice-based conversational games thereby allowing users to break the ice and interact in a fun and engaging manner,” says Vinayak. “In the hunt for building a product for India, the online dating and socializing space caught our eye. We started engaging with users who were on various platforms like Bumble, Hinge etc. and a few problems kept coming up. The interactions were extremely boring and monotonous. Being users of these platforms ourselves, we felt close enough to the problem to build a solution.”
The team started the ideation in February 2022. They have built a prototype and conducted pilots that resulted in “astounding” response. The startup claims to have a waitlist of 500 users.

They are a team of four engineers – three of them are college buddies from NIT Karnataka. They met the fourth cofounder who is from NIT Calicut a year ago.
