At the Connecting Ideas With Money Lounge47 session, that took place on the 16th of September 2022, founder Prit Desai pitched Rajkot-based startup Tradeloop – a B2B marketplace for manufacturers, retailers and traders that is at the growth stage.

“Retailers can directly order through our App to different manufactures. Once order is packed by the supplier we take care of end-to-end logistics, payment and after sales services if required,” says Prit. “Retailers and traders have limited options to buy for their shops, which are different distributors and wholesalers. They have to choose from a limited variety available with these distributors. In most of the cases they have to manage logistics on their own….difficulty in getting after sales service for local brands…and if they directly want to purchase from manufacturer then there is logistics issue like lot size problem, high cost of transport, low connectivity, payment issues and mostly retailers don’t know where manufacturers are located.”
The startup chose this idea as the Indian retail market is mostly unorganized and there are several problems to solve. They believe that over time they could create a huge barrier to entry for other players.
Their journey started in mid-2019 when they briefly figured the problem, they then spent around a year to finalize the initial solution, web development and logistics set up. Operations were launched in October 2020. The startup has survived three Covid waves. In April 2022 the startup crossed the 1000+ order mark.

The two founders are childhood friends that share a complimentary skill set. They have worked together in their college days and have known each other for the last 21 years. They are both from business families and share a common vision.
