At the Connecting Ideas With Money session held on the 22nd of December, 2022 founder Raghavendra Sirigeri pitched Technobabble – a Dev-Environments-as-a-Service platform enabling developers to spin up pre-configured | code-ready workspaces in the cloud.

“We are not just another cloud IDE, we offer a full fledged desktop interface for each of our workspaces. The workspaces on our platform enable seamless collaboration among developers,” says Raghavendra.
The startup addressed the following difficulties faced by developers in setting up development environments:
● Complexity: Depending on the project, the development environment may require a wide range of software and tools to be installed and configured, which can be time-consuming and error-prone.
● Dependencies: Many software packages have dependencies on other packages, which must be installed and configured in the correct order. This can be especially challenging when the dependencies are not clearly documented.
● Compatibility: Different software packages and tools may have different system requirements, and may not be compatible with certain operating systems or hardware configurations.
● Configuration: Some software packages and tools require specific configurations in order towork correctly, which can be difficult to get right without proper documentation or experience.
● Collaboration: When working on a team, it can be difficult to ensure that everyone has the same development environment setup, which can lead to conflicts and difficulties in working together.
Technobabble solution:
Overall, setting up a development environment can be a complex and time-consuming process, and requires a good understanding of the tools and software being used, as well as experience in configuring and troubleshooting issues that may arise.
● Step 1 – Developers can visit the platform and choose a tech stack of their choice for their workspace
● Step 2 – Details such as Memory and Compute requirements (RAM, Server Location, etc.) can be set by the developer
● Step 3 – A Workspace is launched with an ubuntu desktop interface right in the browser equipped all the tools and package to start coding from the get go
● Step 4 – The workspace can be paused and restarted at any time. It can also be saved as an image and shared across the team
