At the Connecting Ideas With Money session that took place on the 20th of January 2023 founder Rohan Jalan pitched The Crimson Box – a Chennai-based startup in the SaaS, E-commerce, Education vertical. The startup is at the MVP stage.

“With our SaaS-based model, we automate the entire supply chain – sourcing for institutions and distribution for end consumer – of learning merchandise. At the backend, we act as a single window vendor and front end is an E-commerce portal for the end consumer,” says Rohan.
The startup has identified that the entire transaction and the process of procuring learning merchandise is in offline mode. The institutions at one end of the spectrum procures from multiple vendors, deploys manpower for distribution and manages the entire activity using archaic processes. And at the other end of the spectrum, the consumer, parents and students are either expected to purchase from these institutions or shops designated by them. Again, in offline mode.
The startup has automated the entire process for both the institutions and parents and students. The founder has spent 15+ years in the education industry and identified that ancillary services in the education space have been left untouched by the technology revolution however represents a 50b dollar opportunity.
