At the Connecting Ideas With Money session that took place on the 11th of April, 2023 founder Kajol Pandey pitched Pune-based seed stage startup Urbanroof – that provides end-to-end construction and interior repair and maintenance services to property owners, using a direct-to-consumer (D2C) model to eliminate intermediaries and offer standardized and sustainable solutions at compelling prices.

Their mobile app empowers users to assess interior and construction damages effortlessly through an intuitive self-assessment tool, leveraging camera-based pattern recognition technology and a smart chatbot to identify, diagnose, and offer remedial solutions for structural issues.
The startup noted that Urban property owners face risks of structural damage and indoor health hazards due to poor construction practices, inadequate protection, and delayed maintenance, compounded by a lack of comprehensive
service providers, unreliable local contractors, and a complex chain of middlemen that doubles costs, lacks accountability, and leads to dissatisfied outcomes. The team set themselves on the path to solve this problem.
“We serve residential, commercial, and industrial properties and provide services like damage assessment, solution design, product supply, execution, project management, and job guarantee with excellent customer support, all under a single point of accountability,” says Kajol. “Our journey so far has been exciting, with a proven track record of generating last year revenue of Rs. 2.7 crore, boasting a remarkable 50% gross margins, and serving over 1000+ satisfied clients. We are now present in four cities across India.”
