At the Connecting Ideas With Money session that took place on the 11th of April, 2023 founder Saikat Basu pitched Bangalore-based Edtech startup Win Upskilling – an upskilling platform for IT professionals. They provide IT management and emerging tech programs of two to twelve weeks duration in hybrid mode. The startup is at the growth stage.

“Instead of a major volume of job opportunities as well as the availability of certified professionals to fulfil those opportunities, the global IT industry still suffers from a shortage of skilled IT professionals. On the one hand the enterprises suffer from the right professionals and on the other hand the professionals suffer from a lack of suitable opportunities. Win is working on reducing this gap through our upskilling programs and our online career club,” says Saikat.
Win Upskilling has an AI-based recommendation tool that is poised to ensure that the upskilling requirements of IT professionals are better evaluated, and a future roadmap for such a skilling plan is defined in a structured way. Their immersive networking platform is charted to follow up on the roadmap defined, and ensure a holistic year-round of learning and growth.
Win Upskilling started in 2016 as Consultants Factory. The founders came from management consulting backgrounds and would offer global certification of IT management courses, plus management consulting services. They then pivoted from certification to upskilling.

Two near death moments in a short span of 6 years, the self-doubts and then the moments of success and satisfaction… it has all been worth it. We started with the decision to stay bootstrapped, we compromised on our growth possibilities to stay that way, and then we realized the positive impact our brand can make with collaboration with investors! We realized that investors are needed not for the funds but for making a positive impact on society faster, better and more sustainable. We matured over the last few years, and are now excited to explore how the next phase of our story unfolds,” adds Saikat.

While Saikat and Amit had been close friends for the last 15 or so years, they met Nilendu through a common social club about 8 years back. Since then they had been connected with each other for various projects.
