Connecting Ideas With Money – Jatin Kundra – FinT

At the Connecting Ideas With Money session that took place on the 12th of May, 2023 founder Jatin Kundra pitched Kolkata-based FinT – that is building a platform for shoppers aged 14 to 24 in India, where every purchase earns a cash back in the form of gold, along with up to 10% discounts. The startup is headquartered in Kolkata while working remotely from across the country, The startup is in the Fintech vertical and post revenue.

“This enables them to save, invest and optimize their spending for a better future, making their spending more rewarding,” says Jatin. “We are solving the problem of financial independence and financial literacy in India. We offer a digital-first product that can help young minds learn about financial literacy in a more GenZ first and gamified manner that they can understand along with it developing the habit of savings in them. ”

The team initially launched with the idea of bringing good financial habits to teenagers through micro investments in gold. The number one factor that propelled them to address this problem was their very own experience with delayed entry into using financial services for their benefit. Jatin at 23 did not have a CIBIL score and Abadur Rahman his cofounder started saving at 27. The startup pivoted to include savings while spending in order to add value to a much wider audience.

The founders have conducted interviews in Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities to understand pain points. Much of India does not have a credit card however want the rewards that go with it. This set them on the path of building FinT.

The founders met while working at TagMango and quickly got along. The rest of the team was hired through college internships, LinkedIn and Internshala.
