Bitcoin, launched in 2009, has been described as a digital currency, a protocol and an open-source software stream that allows peer-to-peer transactions with no central authority and little or no processing fees. The network manages transactions and issuance of Bitcoins. Its origin, varied levels of acceptance by government regulators, slow adoption by business, popularity with developers, interest by leading venture capital firms, amongst several other twists and turns, is mysterious and enigmatic to some and perhaps an early adoption platform for others.
These were early days and the group was seeking to explore beyond the enigma, We had an engaged audience asking questions to get to the heart of the technology, the cuurency, its future and its uses. It helped to have several members of the Bitcoin community in the audience. There was much discussion.
